"The Agenda Setting Function Theory"

The Agenda Setting Function Theory was developed in 1972 by Maxwell McCombs and Donald Shaw. They had found a correlation between issues voters believed were important and issues reported prominently in the media. It suggests media has the power. This means that it tells the audience what to think about and how to think about it.
