After doing my cover page interview, I went to another classmates to ask questions about my contents page sample. Here are their responses. Video: link

After coming up with a few interview questions, I decided to create three separate ones to get a better understanding of what my classmates thought of the sample magazine. The first interview was on my cover page sample and here is what one of my classmates had to say about it. Video: link

After creating my sample magazine, I have decided to conduct interviews on my classmates to see how they feel about it. Here are some questions I will be asking them. What do you think of the cover page? What do you think of the contents page? What do you think of the double-page spread? How is the color scheme? Is there something I could improve on? Did you like that I used both a male and female model? Should I continue? Is there anything I should add to this?

I have been thinking a lot about names for my magazine since the beginning of this project. I have taken long to figure it out because I want one that would really mean something. For all my samples,I have used Fashion Buzz,  which my group came up with on the spot for the sample magazine. Other ideas have been Phasion , Glam, Best You.

After creating my double page spread, I think it was good for a first try. I will definitely need to work on making the layout look better and more organized. I only used one picture but I many use more than one in the future. My color scheme is subject to change as well because some of the text is unclear. I liked how it looked overall, however, because it was something different. For my final magazine, I will definitely add more text as well. Since this was just a trial run, I was focusing more on the layout of it all.

After creating my cover and content page and gathering a few ideas, I decided to create my own double-page spread. I did not make it as elaborate as the real one would be since this is just a sample. I wanted to play around with my options before getting too into it.

Thanks to my survey, I was able to gather ideas on what should be inside my magazine double-page spread. Many of the students voted for it containing beauty tips, latest trends, and interviews. I was able to include two of these things for this sample contents page.

After gathering a few ideas on magazine contents pages, I decided to sample one for myself. I think it came out fairly well. My colors might have been a little bit off but overall it looked good. For the real one, I might do a different layout because that one was more difficult to work with. My models were sitting, which was something I wanted to experiment with. The fashion was still evident even though you could not see the full outfit. It was about the background as well.

After completing my cover page sample, I decided to try and create a sample of a table of contents page. This one will go together with my cover page.

In my survey, there weren't many questions that would help me out with creating my magazine contents page. I could use the color schemes that people suggested to play around creating a sample contents page.

Evaluation Creating my own cover page has allowed me to gain a better understanding for what I will need to do once I am ready to create my final magazine. I was using a website called canva.com to create my sample but for my final magazine task, I will be using InDesign. I liked how my sample came out overall and it helped me think about how I will format my final piece. Layout/Text Styles/Photography My sample cover page consisted of two models, since the majority of the people in my survey wanted to see that. The picture I used was good because it did not have any distracting colors. I was able to add text without it being too distracting.However, I can next time make it a little more clear to see. Some of the text was too light and you could not read it very well. Maybe next time I will crop out the background overall and only use the two models. I will definitely keep the female and male model aspect because it is something more unique than just one model.

Now that I have gotten a few ideas on what my magazine cover can look like, I decided to make a sample one. Here, I was able to play around with some editing to see what looks best. I

Thanks to my survey, I was able to get ideas of what my target audience would enjoy the most inside a fashion magazine. Many responses said trends, fashion details/information, and deals on clothing are what have appealed the most about the magazine to the participants. When asked what should be inside my fashion magazine, they checked off on latest trends, beauty tips, and interviews the most. For my magazine, I will research the latest trends on teenage fashion and be up tp date with my information to give the audience what they want.
